Some fires water makes worse.
Grease fires spread when water hits them. Electrical rooms and sensitive equipment can be ruined by water even when the fire is small. For these spaces we install, inspect and service dedicated suppression systems built for the hazard.
Restaurant kitchen hood systems
A kitchen hood suppression system sits in the hood and ductwork above your cooking line. Fusible links or detectors sense the heat of a fire, the system shuts off fuel or power to the appliances and discharges a wet chemical agent over the cooking surfaces and into the plenum. The agent knocks the fire down and forms a layer over hot oil to stop it reigniting.
Hood systems need inspection on a regular schedule, and whenever you change the cooking line. Moving or adding a fryer can leave it unprotected, so call us before the new equipment goes in.
Special hazard systems
Special hazard systems protect high-value or high-risk equipment where a sprinkler alone isn't the right answer, such as electrical and control rooms, communications equipment and certain storage. They're usually triggered by a detection system and discharge an agent suited to the hazard. We assess the space, recommend the approach, and install and maintain the system.
Part of the whole system
Hood and special hazard systems tie into your fire alarm and, often, your sprinkler system. We coordinate all of it, with our partner Alert Services Inc. on the alarm side, so a single call covers the job.
